Carloforte is located on the island of San Pietro, in the southwest part of Sardinia in the former province of Sulcis. The island is about six miles from the Sardinian coast and, together with the neighboring island of Sant'Antioco, forms the archipelago of Sulcis.

    THE FESTIVAL OF SAN PIETRO and Sulcitana Spring
    After the Girotonno, another beautiful series of  festivals will involve Carloforte from late June the beginning of July. The traditional holiday of San Pietro will take place the 29th of June, with a whole series of events that will last until July 3 ,involving theatrical events and traditional folk music groups. On July there will be the Festa dello Sport (Sports Festival) with many sports competitions on land and sea, while the 2nd and 3rd of July Carloforte will host  the event Primavera Sulcitana (Sulcitana Spring).  Soon we will publish the schedule of these extraordinary events.     Starting from the 2nd to 5th of June
    International chefs, live cooking and meetings , all in the name of an ancient tradition : tuna fishing . These will be the ingredients of the Girotonno 2016, the exhibition dedicated to the valorisation of the ancient culture of tuna fishing and of the tonnare, 14th edition will take place in Carloforte, on the island of San Pietro, from the 2nd to 5th of June, with the participation of by two extraordinary italian singers Antonello Venditti and Mario Biondi. Chefs from 6 different countries of the world will show how to cook the Mediterranean bluefin tuna, one of the most valuable species with high nutrive characteristics, and is highly prized by the Japanese for the preparation of sushi.
