The countdown has already begun for the most eagerly awaited event of the year: #Carloforte is preparing to host the nineteenth edition of the #Girotonno! The eagerly awaited event dedicated to the bluefin tuna of San Pietro Island is set for 1 to 4 June 2023.

As usual, there will be many activities on the programme: live cooking in the company of great starred chefs, tasty samplings of traditional Carlofortina dishes, conferences, and a large area dedicated to Sardinian food and craft products.

The highlight of the event will obviously be the #TunaCompetition, the international gastronomic competition based on tuna, which this year will involve six chefs from as many countries. Hosting the competition in 2023 will again be Sky Sport and L’Unione Sarda journalist Valentina Caruso and RAI radio and television presenter Federico Quaranta.

The scheduled of activities, including guided tours, will allow tourists to discover the wonders of the island and fall in love with this extraordinary strip of land in the Sulcis archipelago.

There will also be musical events:

1 June 2023
The first evening will feature Nomadi, the longest-running band on the Italian music scene, ready to thrill fans with a free concert celebrating 60 years of their career.

Free concert.

2 June 2023
Apulian comedian and cabaret artist Uccio De Santis will take to the Girotonno stage for his show “Stasera con Uccio” (Tonight with Uccio): an explosive mix of the Apulian comedian’s monologues, a journey through irresistible gags and life stories, from his beginnings overcoming shyness to his first falls in love, and finally to his great love: theatre.
Uccio De Santis, a recurring guest on the Rai2 programme “Made in Sud”, boasts considerable success on social networks with millions of followers: his videos have collected an incredible number of views and paved the way for a record-breaking live tour.

3 June 2023
Raf will be the star of the big free concert on Saturday 3 June!
